Sir New York

Experimental Menswear Brand Blending Streetwear with Athletics, Technical Textiles, Cultural Crossovers, and Immersive Fashion Presentations in New York

Client: Sir New York

Timeframe: 2010 - 2013

Collaborators: Auston Bjorkman

The Opportunity

Sir New York emerged during a period when menswear was rapidly evolving, as street culture, athletics, and high fashion began to intersect in new ways. The brand set out to create a distinctly urban design language that blended couture construction with technical textiles and athletic influences, presenting a perspective that crossed traditional fashion boundaries. The challenge was to build a fully realized brand from the ground up, establishing a strong identity, producing compelling runway presentations and editorial content, and introducing a new visual and cultural point of view to a market increasingly driven by early adopters and tastemakers.

The Approach

Led the development of the brand’s identity and creative direction across every touchpoint, including product storytelling, runway presentations, marketing campaigns, lookbooks, retail relationships, and experiential brand activations. The collections combined non-traditional silhouettes with technical materials such as neoprene, mesh, ripstop, and alpaca, while pioneering the use of sublimation printing techniques on neoprene to create bold graphic treatments rarely seen in menswear at the time. Fashion presentations and collaborative activations leveraged partnerships with artists, brands, and cultural figures including ASAP Ferg, Android Homme, Heineken, and Corzo Tequila, blending fashion, music, and performance to create immersive brand moments that extended beyond the runway.

The Takeaway

Sir New York developed a distinct voice within contemporary menswear by combining technical innovation, cross cultural collaboration, and experimental presentation formats. The brand’s fusion of couture, streetwear, and athletics resonated strongly with early adopters and creative communities, positioning Sir New York as a forward looking label that challenged traditional fashion categories while building meaningful connections between design, culture, and experience.
